Solar panels affect the distribution of water and energy reaching the ground, altering soil water balance and microclimate. In Agri-Photovoltaic systems, these changes affect plant growth and irrigation needs. This paper presents the hydrological and meteorological observations from a vertical Agri-Photovoltaic research site and compares them with other studies. The dominant changes observed are a reduction in global radiation of up to 18 % and a reduction in wind velocity of over 50 %, affecting losses in soil moisture through evapotranspiration. During dry periods, such as in August 2023, the plots within the Agri-Photovoltaic system are characterized by higher soil moisture, potentially benefiting plant growth and irrigation.
