About TIB Open Publishing

TIB Open Publishing is an open-access platform for publishing scientific journals and conference publications. Our service is available to all scientific disciplines, although the focus is on Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB)'s central subjects: natural sciences and technology. Our service is aimed at editors of scientific journals and conference publications who want a library-supported, but at the same time sophisticated, sustainable, and fully open access publication option. The TIB Open Publishing offer is aimed at existing conference publications and journals as well as well as new launches. We are happy to help you convert publications from the subscription model to open access. TIB Open Publishing is a home for open-access publications not charging article processing charges (APCs).

The costs for our services depend on the number of articles or contributions published and the nature of the publication (journal, conference series, or individual conference volumes). For journal publications, set-up costs are levied in the first year and are not incurred in subsequent years. For conference series, these set-up costs can also be split. We offer a discount for journals and conference publications that come from the TIB subject spectrum.

For example, the costs for a journal from the university environment with up to 15 articles per year and a TIB subject reference are approx. 2,500 € net in the first year and approx. 1,300 € net in subsequent years. These costs break down as follows according to the FOAA Transparency Framework:
