Maintaining the security of supply and the resilience of the system, advancing electrification, flexibility and sector coupling, continuing the expansion of renewable energies, and simultaneously increasing the cost-effectiveness of grid transformation measures are key topics for the power grid of tomorrow. The Future Power Grids conference in Berlin has established itself as the central and most important meeting place for energy infrastructure insiders. A wide range of solution-oriented experts from all areas of the energy sector engage in professional and personal exchange to discuss innovative solutions for transforming our energy system.
With the overarching theme "Future Grids – Ensuring Resilience and Stability with a Full Green Supply," leading experts from politics, research, and industry gather insights to examine and discuss solutions for current and future challenges.
Even under the new political landscape, the power grid remains the central infrastructure for advancing electrification, flexibility, and sector coupling. It is essential to continue the path to climate neutrality through the expansion of renewable energies, while simultaneously increasing the cost-effectiveness of grid modernization measures. Maintaining the security of supply and the resilience of the system is paramount, and electricity must become internationally competitive.
At the 2026 conference, the event addressed topics such as security of supply, system stability, resilience, grid expansion, digitalization, and the integration of flexible energy systems.
By publishing these proceedings, we ensure that the valuable knowledge exchanged during the conference reaches a wider audience, contributing to the ongoing dialogue and collaboration necessary to tackle the challenges faced by the power grid sector. This documentation not only highlights the key results from the conference but also serves as a reference point for future work and a foundation for further collaboration between grid operators, manufacturers, regulators, and academia.
