Abstract

In this work CFD studies about tubular CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) receivers with heat fluxes of more than 4 MW/m2 and liquid sodium as heat transfer medium are presented. A significant improvement of heat transfer conditions is achieved by using spiral type ribs at the inner pipe walls. Furthermore, a comparison of receivers made of Inconel 690 and Niob is shown.
